  1. Which TD Canada Trust accounts can I make INTERAC payments from?
  2. When you press the "Chequing" and "Savings" buttons on the INTERAC Direct Payment keypad, you are accessing the same accounts as you would when you use The Green Machine "Chequing" and "Savings" buttons. The accounts set up on the "Other" and "Credit Card" buttons cannot be used to make purchases.

  1. Can I access my Line of Credit to make an INTERAC Direct Payment purchase?
  2. Yes. This is an excellent way of making a purchase with your TD Canada Trust Line of Credit. The convenience of using your TD Canada Trust Access Card means no cheques to write, and you may benefit from a lower interest rate than typically charged on credit cards. To access your Line of Credit you must ensure that it is set up on either the "Chequing" or "Saving" buttons. You can do this by calling TD Canada Trust at 1-877-247-2265, or by visiting your local TD Canada Trust branch.

  2. All purchases and returns made with INTERAC Direct Payment are recorded in detail with store name and transaction amount on your monthly bank account statement, or passbook for your convenience.

  1. How do I recognize retailers that offer INTERAC Direct Payment?
  2. Most retailers today that accept credit cards also offer this service. Retailers offering this service display the INTERAC Direct Payment logo on their store front.

  1. What is a Cash Back?
  2. Cash Back is a convenient way of getting cash at the same time that you pay for a purchase at a retail location offering this service. It works like this: say you make a purchase for $20.00 and you would also like $50.00 cash. Ask the retailer if they offer cash back. If so, ask for the purchase amount to be topped up for the $50 cash back. The retailer will process $70.00 from your account and you get the merchandise plus the $50.00 cash.
